Jacob graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He spent his internship at Allied Millennial Partners as a Finance Intern and at Sompo International focusing on Risk Control, where he worked with senior management and performed financial analysis for their clients. Jacob's first venture into the world of data engineering was when he enrolled as a student in ProgramWithUs - a coding bootcamp with a focus on Python, data science, data engineering, and web scraping. He then studied how he could leverage Python in relation to his experience in financial data by building passion projects.

Prior to Datavations, Jacob developed and maintained Django applications, and used React and React Native to create front-end solutions for the same bootcamp. He also instructed classes at the bootcamp, where he met then student and now CEO and co-founder of Datavations, Philip Odelfelt.

Since then, Jacob has been serving as the co-founder, Head of Engineering, and Excellence Team Lead at Datavations. The team, composed of data engineers, data scientists, and data analysts, is responsible for reporting on the highest quality datasets in the market.
